Terms and Conditions
- These terms and conditions (as amended from time to time) are the competition rules (Rules) and apply to the Dickies UK Worker of the Year 2011 Competition (Competition). By entering the Competition, entrants agree to be bound by the Rules.
- Entry to the Competition is open to legal residents of the UK, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands who are 17 years or older on 1st May 2011.
- Employees of Williamson-Dickie Europe Ltd, BFM Strategies Ltd (Chicane), Mako Marketing, Deep Blue Sky Digital Limited, their subsidiaries and agents and the families of such employees or any other persons connected with the Competition are not eligible to enter.
- Entries can be made online at www.ukworkeroftheyear.com using the entry form provided.
- No more than one entry per person is permitted.
- The Competition runs from 09.00am on 1st May 2011. The closing date for entries is 11.59pm on 31 August 2011. Responsibility is not accepted by Williamson-Dickie Europe Ltd for entries lost, mislaid, delayed or for any malfunction of or error in the www.ukworkeroftheyear.com website, which prevents entries from being received. Williamson-Dickie Europe Limited will not return any entries.
- Entrants may choose to enter the main Competition and the UK Worker of the Month Award (The People"s Choice) by ticking the relevant box on the online entry form. The UK Worker of the Month Award is a monthly competition judged and voted for, by members of the public and is separate to the main Competition. There will be one winner per calendar month of the UK Worker of the Month Award who will be announced at the end of each calendar month on the www.ukworkeroftheyear.com website and will win a voucher entitling them to £250 worth of Dickies branded workwear products. The winners of the UK Worker of the Month Award will not automatically become a finalist in the UK Worker of the Year competition.
- All eligible entries received will be individually judged by a panel of experts appointed by Williamson-Dickie Europe Ltd and their PR company, Chicane (Panel). The Panel will comprise of five or six judges, which shall include representatives from Williamson-Dickie Europe Ltd, Chicane and last year's competition winner. The Panel will interview the 6 finalists, and will choose one overall winner from the list of finalists. In the event of a tie, the tied entries will be re-judged by the Panel on the basis of the extent to which the person represents the spirit of the UK Worker of the Year.
- The finalists will be notified by email within 14 days of the closing date and will be invited to attend the Dickies Gala Night on 5th November 2011.
- The overall winner of the Competition will be named UK Worker of the Year 2011 at the Dickies Gala Night on 5th November 2011. The prize for the winner will be a choice of one of three Renault cars, chosen from either.
- a Megane Hatchback 5 Door 1.5DCI Dynamic Tomtom; or
- a Grand Scenic 1.5DCI 105 Expression; or
- a Trafic SL27 DCI 115
- Unless Renault change the name of a model nearer the time of the final event on 5th November 2011.
- In order to qualify for the prize, the winner must provide proof of insurance at the time of delivery of their chosen car.
- The winner must keep the 1st prize vehicle for a period of no less than 12 months from the date of delivery of the vehicle at the Renault UK dealership.
- In addition, there will be two further prizes which will be awarded to the runner-up and third place of the Competition. The prize packages will each include a Travel Voucher for a Thomas Cook holiday worth £2,000 for runner-up and £1,000 for third place as well as a selection of Dickies workwear products.
- No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered and Williamson-Dickie Europe Ltd reserves the right to substitute the prizes or any part of them for an alternative prize of equal or greater value at any time.
- The names of the finalists will be available by contacting Sharon Goodwin at Williamson-Dickie Europe Ltd, Second Avenue, Westfield Trading Estate, Midsomer Norton, Radstock, BA3 4BH or Gary Barak at Chicane, Suite 588, Eastside Complex, Pinewood Studios, Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire, SL0 0NH after 29th October 2011.
- Williamson-Dickie Europe Limited will not accept any responsibility for damage, loss, injury to feelings or disappointment suffered by any entrant entering the Competition.
- By entering the UK Worker of the Year Competition, entrants agree to their name and photograph and information contained in their entry form being made publicly available by Williamson-Dickie Europe Limited for the purposes of announcing the winner of the Competition and for publicity purposes connected with the Competition.
- The finalists may be required to become involved in further publicity or advertising in relation to the Competition. The finalists will be required to make themselves available to attend The Dickies Gala Night on 5th November 2011, where the overall winner of the Competition will be announced.
- Williamson-Dickie Europe Limited reserves the right to cancel the Competition for reasons beyond its reasonable control or to alter the Competition or the Rules at any time. An up to date copy of the Rules is available online at www.ukworkeroftheyear.com.
